নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদকঃ বাংলাদেশ এবং মেক্সিকোর মধ্যে অর্থনীতি, বাণিজ্য ও ব্যাবসায়িক সহযোগিতা সম্প্রসারণের বিষয়ে অঙ্গীকার করেছেন বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী টিপু মুনশি ও মেক্সিকোর সেক্রেটারি অব দ্য ইকোনমি র্যাকুয়েল বুয়েনরোস্ত্রো। দুই দেশের অর্থনৈতিক সম্পর্ককে নতুন উচ্চতায় নিয়ে যেতে প্রতিশ্রুতি ব্যক্ত করেছেন তারা।
মঙ্গলবার (২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর) মেক্সিকোতে র্যাকুয়েল বুয়েনরোস্ত্রোর সঙ্গে দ্বিপাক্ষিক বৈঠক করেন বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী টিপু মুনশি। দুই দেশের মধ্যকার প্রায় পাঁচ দশকের দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্কের মধ্যে এ ধরনের এটিই প্রথম বৈঠক। বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে পাঠানো এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়।
২০৪১ সালের মধ্যে সুখী-সমৃদ্ধ এবং উন্নত ও স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ বিনির্মাণে বর্তমান সরকারের প্রতিশ্রুতি এবং এশীয়-প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় অঞ্চলে একটি দ্রুততম বর্ধনশীল অর্থনীতির দেশ হিসেবে এর অবস্থান তুলে ধরেন টিপু মুনশি। এসময় দুই দেশের মধ্যকার সহযোগিতা আরও বাড়ানোর জন্য একটি দ্বিপাক্ষিক বাণিজ্য জয়েন্ট গ্রুপ গঠনের প্রস্তাব দেন তিনি।
বাংলাদেশ বিদেশি বিনিয়োগের উত্তম জায়গা উল্লেখ করে মন্ত্রী বলেন, প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার সরকার একশটি বিশেষ অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চল প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছে। সেখানে বিশ্বের অনেক দেশ ইতোমধ্যে বিনিয়োগ করেছে। এসব অর্থনৈতিক অঞ্চলে মেক্সিকান বিনিয়োগকারীদের বিনিয়োগ করার মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশের ১৭ কোটির বেশি মানুষের বাজারে প্রবেশের আহ্বান জানান তিনি।
এছাড়া মেক্সিকোর উদ্যোক্তা ও ব্যবসায়ী সম্প্রদায়কে বাংলাদেশের উৎপাদন বিশেষ করে টেক্সটাইল, ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস, কৃষি, জ্বালানি এবং আইটি খাতে মেক্সিকোর চাহিদা মেটাতে বাজার অন্বেষণেরও আহ্বান জানান তিনি।
মেক্সিকোর সেক্রেটারি অব ইকোনমি দ্বৈত ট্যাক্সেশন এবং কাস্টমসের অনিষ্পন্ন চুক্তিগুলোর সমাধান করার প্রয়োজনীয়তার ওপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন। তিনি তার দেশের বিভিন্ন রাজ্যের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের ব্যবসায়ীদের আনুষ্ঠানিক যোগাযোগ ও ব্যাবসায়িক ক্ষেত্র অনুসন্ধানের আহ্বান জানান। এছাড়া বাংলাদেশের ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালস সেক্টরে দেশটির গভীর আগ্রহের কথা জানান তিনি। দুই দেশের শক্তিশালী অর্থনৈতিক সম্পর্কের ভিত্তি রচনার প্রতিশ্রুতিও ব্যক্ত করেন বুয়েনরোস্ত্রো।
এসময় তাকে বাংলাদেশ সফরের আমন্ত্রণ জানান বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী।
বৈঠকে মেক্সিকোতে নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত আবিদা ইসলাম, বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব আব্দুর রহিম খান ও এফবিসিসিআইয়ের সহ-সভাপতি রাশেদুল হোসেন চৌধুরী উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
পরে মন্ত্রী মেক্সিকোতে বসবাসরত বাংলাদেশি সম্প্রদায়ের সঙ্গে চ্যান্সারিতে অনুষ্ঠিত এক মতবিনিময় সভায় যোগ দেন। অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জানানো হয়।
সভায় প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে টিপু মুনশি নতুন কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ সৃষ্টি, বৈধ পথে রেমিট্যান্স প্রেরণ এবং মেক্সিকোতে বাংলাদেশি পণ্যের বাজার সম্প্রসারণে সবার সহযোগিতা কামনা করেন। মেক্সিকোতে বসবাসরত মানুষের কল্যাণে সরকার সবসময় পাশে আছে এবং ভবিষ্যতেও থাকবে বলেও প্রতিশ্রুতি দেন।
