মঙ্গলবার (২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর) ঢাকা সেনানিবাসস্থ সশস্ত্র বাহিনী বিভাগের মাল্টিপারপাস হলে এ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে আইএসপিআর জানিয়েছে, সভায় বাংলাদেশের সার্বিক রাসায়নিক নিরাপত্তা সুসংহতকরণ ও রাসায়নিক দুর্ঘটনা রোধে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থাপনা সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা ও সিদ্ধান্ত গৃহিত হয়েছে। এছাড়া, কেমিক্যাল ডিজাস্টার রেসপন্স টিমের (সিডিআরটি) কর্মপরিধি চূড়ান্তকরণ করা হয়েছে। একইসঙ্গে সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধির কাজ চলমান রয়েছে বলেও জানানো হয়।
বিএনএসিডব্লিউসির নির্বাহী সেল সভায় জানিয়েছে, দেশে তফসিলভুক্ত রাসায়নিক দ্রব্য সংক্রান্ত কার্যক্রম যথাযথভাবে নিয়ন্ত্রণের লক্ষ্যে সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানকে বিএনএসিডব্লিউসির সঙ্গে নিবন্ধনের জন্য তৈরি করা ওয়েব পোর্টালটি চালু করা হয়েছে।
এছাড়া সভায় তফসিলভুক্ত রাসায়নিক দ্রব্যসহ দেশের সার্বিক রাসায়নিক নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিতকরণের লক্ষ্যে সবাই একযোগে কাজ করার অঙ্গীকার ব্যক্ত করেন।
সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন বিএনএসিডব্লিউসির চেয়ারম্যান ও সশস্ত্র বাহিনী বিভাগের প্রিন্সিপাল স্টাফ অফিসার লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল ওয়াকার-উজ-জামান। বিএনএসিডব্লিউসির সদস্যসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রণালয়, সংস্থা এবং সশস্ত্র বাহিনী থেকে ৪৩ জন উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মকর্তা সভায় অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
